Our commitment

GetFairways is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to our website and application.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. They define three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

GetFairways is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working toward full conformance and are addressing the known issues listed below.

Measures we take

• Accessibility is considered in our design and development process
• Automated accessibility testing runs against our public pages on every deployment
• We conduct manual keyboard-only and screen-reader testing of core workflows: registration, live scoring, and the spectator leaderboard
• We do not use accessibility overlay widgets, which we do not consider a substitute for accessible code

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some limitations remain. We are working on each of the following:

• Video captions: some demo videos do not yet have reviewed captions. We are adding corrected captions to all video content.
• Live leaderboard updates: real-time score changes may not always be announced by screen readers. We are adding ARIA live regions to the leaderboard.
• Print outputs: generated scorecards, tee sheets, cart signs, and bag tags are designed for physical printing and are not optimized for screen-reader use. The underlying tournament data is available in accessible formats on request.

Compatibility

GetFairways is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, used with assistive technologies including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. The tournament application requires JavaScript; our public informational pages are served as static HTML and do not.

Accessibility of GetFairways relies on HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS, and JavaScript.
